Social media offer an opportunity to reach your target audience and attract new readers to your blog as well. In 2018, it’s almost sacrilegious to not use social media to share your content. However, it can seem overwhelming given all the options there are. That’s why we’ve created this mini guide to help.
Step 1: Open a social media account (or two)
As much as it can be great to have a presence on every social media platform, you’re more likely to get better results by focusing on one or two at a time. However, we suggest registering on all social media with your brand name, so no one else can pose as you in the future.
Step 2: Make your blog visible
When users get see your profile, do they get sufficient information about your blog or how to get there? Be sure to include your URL in all your social media profiles and include a website/blog button on your Facebook page if you have one.
Step 3: Schedule posts
No one has the time to post fresh content and write new captions several times a day for different social media platforms. There are several apps that make it easy to schedule social media posts.
Step 4: Create video content
Video content has been king for a long time and it’s going to remain so for some time. With Instagram and Facebook stories, live video and IGTV, more users are consuming more video content. While it’s great to do both live video and regular video as well, doing regular video alone is fine if live video isn’t for you. Just create great content!
Step 5: Use social sharing tools on your blog
There are tools which allow you to combine sharing options via social bookmarking sites, email and social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. Using them makes it easy for readers to share your content on their personal social media pages.
Bonus: Use forums
Forums such as Reddit and Quora, but be careful to follow the rules of each site.
